A multinational defence organisation wants its architecture properly described:
where it stands today, where it should get to, and what has to happen in between. This is a
deliverable-based engagement, mostly remote, producing the reports and models that later decisions
will rest on.
What you would be doing
- Producing the current-state architecture report and the models that go with it.
- Developing the target architecture and its models, grounded in what the organisation actually
needs rather than what is fashionable. - Building the roadmap from one to the other, with the sequencing and dependencies made
explicit. - Writing large structured documents that hold together and can be reviewed by people who were
not in the room. - Working with a multinational team, remotely for most of the engagement, on-site when the work
needs a room and a whiteboard.
What you would bring
- A master’s degree in computer science, software and systems engineering or similar — or, in
its place, several years of progressive expertise in exactly this kind of work. - At least five years delivering enterprise or solution architecture.
- Several years of that specifically for defence customers, where the constraints are different
and the review is harder. - ArchiMate and Sparx Enterprise Architect in daily use, not as a line on a CV.
- A track record of writing long, structured architecture documents.
- The ability to integrate into a multinational team and be useful in it quickly.
- Fluent business English.
